Canvassing
/ doorknocking
Canvassing is probably the single most effective campaign technique to effect behaviour change and Resource Futures was quick to grasp its effectiveness - pioneering its use for recycling awareness and participation campaigns.
Canvassing campaigns are very versatile and can:
- issue specific communication – tailored to address service problems and/or resident issues
- deliver two-way, face-to-face interaction
- provide instant feedback and tailoring of messages to individual needs
- range from widespread and general to localized, specific and intensive (single and double knock) – campaigns can be carefully tailored to meet any geographical or social requirement
- deliver noticeable results within short time periods
They can be used successfully to address a range of issues:
- reduce contamination
- improve levels of awareness and participation in kerbside and other recycling schemes
- highlight communication problems e.g. with hard to reach groups
- identify barriers to participation, for example: poor resident perception of service reliability; low awareness/ understanding of service leading to incorrect use; lack of recycling container
The benefits of a Resource Futures’ canvassing campaign:
- we make sure that the campaign is designed to meet our clients objectives, not to fit a standard methodology
- we don’t compromise on quality and ensure we meet and exceed clients’ requirements with an emphasis on ‘value for money’
- all types of campaigns delivered: county and district wide campaigns – e.g. launching new services; intensive and community focused – e.g. targeting hard to reach groups
- handheld data-pads for accurate and ‘instant’ campaign monitoring
- UK wide coverage, using a mix of experienced teams from our pool of retained staff and local recruits
We give 100% - that means we may not be the cheapest but our clients can have the confidence that we do everything we say we will.
