Antrim HWRC and Bring Site review
Resource Futures carried out a comprehensive review of the staffed Household Waste Recycling Centres (HRCs) and unstaffed Community Recycling Points (CRPs) managed by Antrim Borough Council.
The review offered Antrim Borough Council a chance to further improve their HWRC performance and gain revenue from traders who were found to be bringing in a conservatively estimated 6% of the waste. It also presented opportunities for social and economic benefits from the household waste stream through the introduction of a system of re-use ideally involving local charitable organisations. The review suggested that a net saving of £75,679 per annum for the council could be achieved.
