Youth work
As well as extensive work with schools across the South West and beyond, Resource Futures runs projects supporting young people to take action on sustainable development and climate change in less formal settings.
Global Green Vision is an exciting 3-year project which Resource Futures runs in partnership with African Initiatives, which includes the following elements:
-
Supporting a student-led programme of activities. To find out more about the activities organised by the young people, including guerilla gardening, a pop up cinema and a food waste re-use project, see: http://greenvisionmovement.org.uk/ or visit them on Facebook. -
A two-day youth-led and facilitated Climate Change Summit, being held at Bath University on 29th and 30th June 2011. For more information click here.
- Opportunities for internet-based contact with young people in developing countries as a means of exchanging information about the impact of climate change and the role of young people in taking action to combat it.
Through this work Resource Futures is establishing a network of young people in Bath & North East Somerset with the knowledge, skills and commitment to advocate and act positively on global climate change and sustainable development issues. This project also supports existing youth organisations and the local authority to incorporate global sustainable development more explicitly in their work with young people.
