Resource Futures’ Operations Director, Sam Reeve, has recently been appointed as Affiliate Member to the Resource Association Board. The appointment is for a one year term subject to annual election, and Sam joins an eight strong team led by Jonathon Short from EcoPlastics as Chair. Resource Futures was one of the founding members of the Association when it was launched in 2011.
The Resource Association is a professional advocacy body for the reprocessing and recycling industries with a vision for a resource-efficient materials economy that realises value, prizes quality and seeks to maintain the integrity of the secondary materials that are still too commonly treated as waste.
Association Chief Executive Ray Georgeson commented: “We warmly welcome Sam to our Board. He has been a strong supporter of our work since we launched and we will benefit from his extensive knowledge of the recycling industry.”
Commenting on his appointment, Sam Reeve said, “I’m delighted to be invited to become a board member for the Resource Association. Over the past couple of years, I have seen the organisation grow in strength and purpose as it works to support the transition of the secondary materials market in to a mainstream component of our economy. There is a close affiliation between the visions of Resource Futures and the Resource Association. I look forward to working closely with colleagues and contributing to a resource efficient materials economy by supporting and developing the recycling and reprocessing of secondary materials.”
