Helen is an enthusiastic and experienced Education Officer who works across Resource Futures’ education projects. A qualified teacher, she has 12 years’ classroom experience and a further 12 years on the Education Team at Resource Futures developing and delivering waste, energy and environmental education projects. Her unique balance of experience means that Helen has an excellent understanding of both schools’ and clients’ needs. Helen’s most recent projects include the Brighton & Hove environmental education project (BHee), energy education in schools in Bristol and Bath and North East Somerset, and developing online resources for the Devon Waste Education project.
Helen has facilitated the introduction of new systems to large number of schools, including paper recycling, in-vessel composting, kerbside food waste collections and AMR energy monitoring. She has excellent written and verbal communication skills, and is equally at home leading 400 primary pupils singing an ‘eco’ rap, meeting the Eco Committee of a sixth form college, discussing recycling logistics with caretakers and kitchen staff, developing online teaching resources and addressing a conference of teachers and headteachers.
