Our board consists of two Executive Directors, Sam Reeve and Jane Stephenson, and two Non Executive Directors, Phillip Ward and Phil Cumming, who have extensive high level experience in the resource management field and contribute an independent external viewpoint to strengthen strategic decision making.
Jane has over 30 years’ experience working at a senior level in resource management and led the development of Resource Futures as CEO from 2006. In April 2016 she handed over the CEO position to Sam Reeve, the company’s former Operations Director, to take up a new position as Business Development Director in line with the company’s strategic and succession planning. Jane is passionate about finding practical solutions to environmental and social challenges and in 2001 was awarded an MBE for services to community recycling. She is looking forward to working with the company’s new senior management team and Board to deliver the company’s strategic objectives developing relationships with new and existing clients; and strategic alliances with partners.Read more
Sam was a founding Director of Resource Futures in 2006 and has been instrumental in the development and success of the company since that time. He took over as CEO in April 2016. He has always held the belief that successful businesses no matter how big or small can have a positive impact socially and environmentally. One of his first actions as CEO was to get the company accredited to the B Corp movement. A movement for profit making organisations which are redefining success in business. He leads the company to maximise positive impact by working collaboratively with its customers through evidence gathering that is robust; insight that provides answers and facilitates change; and engagement that achieves lasting positive behaviour change.Read more
Gev was a Director at waste management services company SUEZ, initially as Technical Director with oversight for environmental, EMS and H&S functions, then from 2008 as Director of External Affairs, developing waste and resources policy in the UK and the EU. Prior to joining SUEZ in 2001 he worked in hazardous waste treatment before spending 15 years in environmental consulting with Environmental Resources Management (ERM). Gev has published widely on a range of waste-related issues. He was a member of Defra’s Advisory Committee on Packaging and of the Advisory Committee on Hazardous Substances and has sat on a number of advisory boards.Read more
Phil is a sustainable business professional with over 17 years multi-sector experience in creating and driving innovative and award-winning programmes that deliver significant business value. In recognition of his skills and expertise and the contributions he has made to the wider profession, Phil has recently been appointed to the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment’s (IEMA’s) Strategic Advisory Council. Phillip has 30 years’ experience as a senior civil servant, during which he had responsibility for sustainable consumption and production, as well as policy on waste and local government services. After leaving the civil service, he served for seven years as a Director of the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) where he led the team supporting local authorities in developing recycling and waste minimisation services. As a former client, Phillip was always impressed by the expertise and customer care shown by the Resource Futures team. He is enjoying offering his experience and insights, as the Company develops for the future.Read more
