Emma specialises in the management of Household Waste and Recycling Centres (HWRCs) and bulky waste. Her particular areas of interest centre on reuse of items that arise at HWRCs and at the kerbside. She often works with community groups and Reuse Forums to help develop the sector. She has written many good practice documents, conducts quantitative research, facilitates workshops and undertakes HWRC and bring site reviews.


Emma has over 12 years’ experience within resource management and has led projects with Zero Waste Scotland, WRAP and various local authorities. Emma managed the reuse framework on behalf of WRAP and has drafted How-to-Guides to help increase reuse. She has also written good practice guidance for HWRCs, WEEE collections and bulky waste collections. Her expertise includes:
