Mariam joined Resource Futures as Waste strategy workstream lead in 2024 from the East London Waste Authority. As a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) she brings 16 years’ experience of implementing waste and resource efficiency projects including bulky waste technical research for private sector, government agencies, local authorities, housing associations and social businesses.
Expertise
Mariam is a PRINCE2 Practitioner who brings extensive project and programme management experience as a technical consultant including major partnership initiatives delivered for Kent Waste Partnership; Leicestershire Waste Partnership; Suffolk and Norfolk County Councils; Durham County Council; South East Seven Authorities, West London Waste Authority, and East London Waste Authority. Her expertise also includes service level procurement, capacity building support with third sector partnerships and development of waste partnership working with local authorities, third sector organisations, housing associations and waste management contractors. At Resource Futures, Mariam also volunteers as a circular economy resource-knowledge leader to MSc students via Imperial College Centre for Environmental Policy and CIWM.
Prior to Resource Futures, Mariam has worked with London Remade Solutions; Reuse Network; London Community Resource Network; Hyder Consulting; Ricardo Energy and Environment; UNEP-WCMC; West London Waste Authority; Hertfordshire County Council; and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
