Melissa works on the Community Action Groups project in Devon, currently based around Tiverton. Since 2017, she has been working with individuals and supporting community groups to encourage sustainability through various initiatives. These have included supporting groups to develop the Refill Devon project, encouraging use of refillable water bottles and supporting home composting in the area.
Melissa has worked in sustainability and environmental education for over 15 years. This has included working in the Information and Education teams at the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT), and five years working on the Composting in schools, and community composting projects with Devon Community Composting Network. She is also part of a team running a small organic market garden in South Devon and teaches on the horticulture courses there.
