Working at Resource Futures is different. You’ll be treated with trust and respect and can enjoy the flexibility of working for an employer who understands that life just doesn’t always work around a 9-5 job.
Owned by our employees
Our independence is our strength: we are owned by those who work for us, not beholden to shareholders. Everyone is encouraged to contribute to the development and growth of the company, with our internal Consultative Group representing the needs and views of staff to our Executive team. We also hold regular clinics with the Executive team and an AGM each year which gives our people the opportunity to make suggestions about how the company is run.
Turning profit into purpose
Our non-profit-distributing model means that every penny we make from our work is put back into our efforts to bring about a regenerative transition and fund future work across our consulting, communities and data gathering teams.
Our employee perks include:
Generous pension contributions
Scottish Widows pension plan – the company will match up to 7% of your contribution.
Paid volunteering time
We encourage our team to support charities and causes through paid volunteer days. You can find out more about our volunteering programme here.
Flexi working
Our people can work flexibly in accordance with our Flexi Working approach. This helps them to maintain a healthy life-work balance, accommodate appointments, childcare needs and other ad-hoc occurrences.
Remote working
We have trust in our people that they are committed, productive and effective from home, as well as when working in the office.
Our office-based teams have the flexibility to work from home up to three days per week (pro-rated for those working part-time) which helps maintain a life-work balance, reduce car use and reduce our carbon footprint.
Meanwhile, time in the office enables our people to benefit from mentorship and learning and development opportunities, as well as wellbeing support from managers and colleagues.
Eye tests and glasses
We cover the cost of eye tests for those who use display screen equipment (DSE), as well as the cost of glasses that are specifically designed for the distance of DSE work.
Cycle to work
Our people can save over 25% on bikes and accessories through this salary sacrifice scheme. We have secure bike parking and showers at our Bristol office.
BYond card
Our people can set up a prepaid cashback card for retail purchases. This earns up to 15% cashback when shopping in over 85 retailers, supermarkets and restaurants. There is also a voucher store offering and employees can save up to 15% on the upfront cost of gift cards.
Enhanced sick pay
Subject to our policies and processes, we provide full pay for up to 30 days of sickness absence, or the pro-rata equivalent if you work part-time, in any rolling 12-month period.
Regular 1:1 meetings
Our focus is to provide a rich and rewarding work environment that balances professional development and quality with healthy work practices and culture.
In order to maintain this balance, line managers continually impart a sense of greater purpose to a person’s role through regular and structured meetings to review wellbeing, performance and L&D goals.
Professional memberships
We encourage our people to gain professional membership where it is helpful to their role, to support their professional and personal development.
Accessible office spaces
Our green and accessible Bristol office is surrounded by nature, and close to the harbourside. We also have an accessible office in central Glasgow, close to local public transport links.
Annual leave and flexible holidays
We offer 25 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays, which can be taken flexibly across the year (with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, and 2 January in Scotland).
Enhanced maternity/paternity leave
We offer enhanced maternity and paternity pay, for employees that have been continuously employed for 12 months, in addition to statutory maternity and paternity pay.
Company membership
After completing your probation and six months in your role, employees can apply to become company members, contributing to important decision making and the future of our business.
Healthcare portal
Employees and their immediate families have access to GP appointments and prescriptions, as well as expert advice on mental health and wellbeing, second medical opinions, legal guidance, counselling and other services. In addition, they can access to mental wellbeing and dentistry apps through this scheme.
Life assurance
Our group life assurance policy will make a payment to your beneficiaries if you were to pass away during your employment.
Mental health and wellbeing group
We have a dedicated team of mental health first aiders and responders across the business.
Employee activity days
We hold two activity days each year – in Summer and Winter – to bring the team together, share knowledge and give all of our people an added opportunity to input into future company plans. We round the day off with a meal to ensure we have some crucial social time together too.
Home and tech scheme
We offer a salary sacrifice scheme for purchases on home décor, accessories and furniture, as well as new tech, appliances and white goods from approved suppliers.
Buddy system
Our Buddy system supports our new starters, particularly during their initial period of induction and onboarding.
Buddies offer a friendly face, a point of contact and an informal source of information for those niggling queries in the early days and later on too.
Finder’s fee
We are proud to have a hugely talented team who are connected to many others in our industry through their experience, networks, education and training, and also their friends and family.
Employees who refer successful candidates for any of our vacancies receive a finder’s fee for their introduction.
EV charging point
Our Bristol office has an on-site charging point for employee and visitors’ electric vehicles.
Learning and development (L&D)
We foster an environment where our employees can develop their skills and knowledge during their employment. Our generous learning and development budget provides dedicated L&D time for each individual, with opportunities to attend events, complete training programmes and engage in share of skills internally between our expert team members.
Where it is relevant to the post that they hold, employees may gain memberships with professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Waste Management (CIWM), the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and the Market Research Society (MRS), allowing them to further their continued professional development.
Dedicated to being an ethical employer
In addition to our B Corp certification (certfied since 2016), we are accredited as a disability confident employer, certified by the Living Wage Foundation as a Living Wage Employer, and are a registered supporter of the West of England Good Employment Charter.
