Including everyone

Creating an inclusive working environment

We encourage and promote the equality, diversity and inclusion of all our people and job applicants to ensure that everyone is treated with dignity and respect at all times.

An equal opportunities employer

We celebrate difference and encourage everyone to join us in being themselves at work. We pride ourselves on working flexibly to enable our people to take care of their mental health and maintain a good life-work balance.

We aim to foster a working environment where everyone can make best use of their skills, free from unlawful discrimination or harassment, and where all decisions are based on merit.

A Disability Confident employer

We have made substantive and wide-reaching changes to our policies and procedures over the past few years. This includes introducing disability-related leave, training our people in disability awareness, and establishing Purple Passports to better support those with disabilities, health conditions and more. We provide suitable adjustments to support our employees to work to their full potential.

In January 2024 we achieved Level Two Disability Confident Employer status, furthering our commitment to being an inclusive and disability confident employer.

How we recruit

We are Disability Confident and a Living Wage employer, and our hiring decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and business needs. We recruit and treat everyone with equality and respect regardless of age, disability, gender, gender reassignment, marital or partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.

We operate a blind recruitment process which reduces bias and promotes diverse hiring. This means that the hiring team does not have access to application forms that include any personal details and select candidates for interview based only on information provided in Part Two or your application form.

Creating a healthy workplace

We provide our managers and wider teams with regular training on equality, diversity and inclusion awareness, including:

  • anti-racism
  • sexual harassment
  • disability awareness

Our managers have also been trained to be Active Bystanders to empower them to speak up and intervene if they witness inappropriate behaviour.
