Our resource future starts here

Sam Reeve, CEO
At Resource Futures we know that we can’t afford to waste the planet. We need to rebalance our relationship with resources if we are to deliver a future where organisations, people, and communities can thrive. This thinking has been at the heart of the company since we were founded in 2006 when three organisations came together to form Resource Futures around a simple, but radical idea: that regenerative thinking and collaborative action are vital for business, society and the planet. In our minds, regeneration and collaboration are not an obstacle to a positive future, they’re the key to it.
In our latest business strategy – developed in early 2024 – we set the tone of change. The way we work is evolving, the type of projects we take on is evolving, and the people and skills we have across the company are evolving too.
Aligned with that, we wanted to rethink how we talk about our work which is why, in 2025, we’re challenging ourselves to step up. Today, we present a new look and feel for Resource Futures, which is backed up by the dedication, expertise and engagement our clients and partners have grown to trust in our team.
With this change we are embracing the power of regeneration, reflected in our updated logo mark. The two-tone ‘regeneration’ symbol expresses the shift we want to bring about from a linear ‘take and deplete’ approach to a circular model where when we use resources, we return them with interest.
Our updated identity – and narrative – has been crafted to better share our mission to help others – from governments and businesses to communities and charitable organisations – embrace regenerative change. This means moving away from wasteful practices and towards circular models that actively contribute to a climate-positive, socially enriching, and economically resilient future.
But this change isn’t just about what we look like and how we talk about our work. We are also investing in the business and specifically how we innovate with data. To support this, we have formed a partnership with Dsposal, an award-winning software and data company focused on the resources and waste sector.
The team, led by Sophie Walker and Tom Passmore, design, build and deliver best-in-class software and data solutions to real world problems. We have worked together on numerous projects over the past few years and are delighted to work more closely with them on how data innovation can be used to support governments, businesses, NGOs and non-profits to embrace regenerative change through evidence-based decision-making.

Just as data is becoming an increasingly powerful enabler for working towards a cleaner, less wasteful society, data innovation and intelligence plays an increasingly crucial part of our overall strategy. We are the preferred partner leading many of the UK’s largest waste composition analysis projects, designing studies to provide governments, local authorities and private sector clients with the robust data they need to plan for a less wasteful future. This data gathering expertise is a perfect complement to the technical innovation we will be developing with Sophie, Tom and the rest of the data intelligence team.
Alongside that we continue with our longstanding work providing consultancy support focused on policy and development, circular solutions, waste strategy, and behaviour change.
We advise clients how to navigate regulatory and policy changes and ensure that new regulations and initiatives bring about a just transition for all; we empower organisations to make smarter decisions and implement circular practices that drive real, positive impact; we work with governments and businesses to define, manage, evolve and optimise their waste and resources strategies, delivering greener, cost-efficient outcomes; and we help organisations understand the motivations and concerns of their audiences, crafting actions and communications that foster lasting engagement.
Finally, we are incredibly proud to support many long-term community projects, which are an important part of our history and culture. Our communities work allows us to deliver meaningful positive impact where it matters, bringing together people with a common interest to harness the full potential of collective action. By setting this clearly apart from our data and consultancy work we want to shine a light on the fantastic achievements that we continue to deliver on the ground and the importance this work has in bringing about a regenerative future.
We’ll continue to share updates on how our work evolves over the coming months. As we say, your resource future starts here: if you want to talk to us about consulting, communities or data, get in touch with me or any of our expert team and we can talk through how we can support you in taking the next steps in your regenerative journey.
