Jinny is our Community Action Groups (CAG) Somerset Lead. She specialises in community development and has a successful track record of building strong community networks. She has led and developed county-wide projects large and small, which are still flourishing, including managing the Village Agent team and Somerset Diverse Communities. Jinny brings depth and breadth of understanding of Somerset communities to the team. She is passionate about supporting others to be the best they can possibly be and firmly believes in enabling people to come together to act on what is important to them achieves meaningful results at a grass roots level. This is especially important when the climate crisis facing us can seem insurmountable, but real solutions can be generated collectively locally.

Expertise

Jinny brings over 15 years’ experience working in the voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector in Somerset. She has deep understanding of local communities, both geographic and identity based. Jinny draws on this knowledge and experience to lead the CAG Somerset team and increase the impact our work has locally. This is a new project being developed across Somerset with a small team focussed on reuse, repair, reduction, sharing, surplus food and composting. We facilitate a CAG network and provide support to groups both large and small. Jinny has extensive workshop facilitation skills, both online and in person. She also has a background in business development and supports groups to navigate their funding options, as well as support them with structure and governance.
