Resource Futures joins CIWM’s Policy and Innovation Forum
14 March 2025
CIWM has overhauled and expanded its Policy and Innovation Forum as it looks to ‘move the world beyond waste’, relaunching with a new membership consisting of academics, policy specialists, and industry leaders – including Resource Futures’ Policy Lead Susan Evans.
The Policy and Innovation (P&I) Forum is intended to act as a forward-looking think tank to influence and shape resource and waste management policy, as well as acting as a central hub for thought leadership in the sector.
The move comes as CIWM looks to promote increased collaboration and direction across the organisation’s Specialist Expert Groups (SEGs) – which are overseen by the P&I Forum – and allow the organisation to more directly influence and impact sector research and policy making.
The updated P&I Forum will now comprise of the following members:
• Marcus Gover (former CEO at WRAP)
• Emma Beal (West London Waste Authority)
• Susan Evans (Resource Futures)
• Jacob Hayler (ESA)
• Wayne Hubbard (ReLondon)
• Chris Jonas (Tolvik)
• Lorna Pannett (Ricardo)
• Adam Read (SUEZ UK)
• Chris Sherrington (Eunomia)
• Claire Shrewsbury (WRAP)
• Sophie Thomas (Etsaw)
• Costa Velis (University Colled London)
• Tim Walker (arc21, CIWM’s President)
• Dan Cooke (CIWM)
• Lee Marshall (CIWM)
Marcus Gover, who will take on the role of Chair within the Forum, comments: “From industry leaders to specialist academics, we are bringing together a wealth of expertise with a deep knowledge of innovative practices to help shape progressive policy within resource and waste management, and identifying vital opportunities for us to move towards a low-carbon, resource-efficient, and more circular UK economy.”
