Resource Futures new home in Edinburgh
19 December 2018
In December, the Resource Futures team in Edinburgh officially settled into their new office at the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (ECCI), situated right in the heart of the historic Old Town of Edinburgh.
Resource Futures is proud to join a host of other resident organisations such as the Sustainable Scotland Network, Scottish Carbon Capture & Storage (SCCS), CarboMap, ClimateXchange, Climate Futures, and Scene Connect, to name a few.
ECCI is recognised as being a centre of excellence in Scotland for sustainability and not just because of the organisations it hosts and supports. The ECCI is the first listed building to achieve the BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ award, and for the energy buffs amongst you, it has an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)* rating of B+, with average annual CO2 emissions calculated at 21 KgCO2/m2 (this is VERY low!).
However, despite its beautiful location, its history, awards and accolades, what really makes ECCI are the people within it. The Resource Futures team have been particularly warmly welcomed by their new hosts and immediately made to feel right at home:
“It’s fantastic to not only have a great space to get on with the day job, but to be surrounded by other people also working to make the world more sustainable, makes it an inspiring place to work too. We feel proud to be a part of ECCI and look forward to exploring opportunities for collaboration with the ECCI network.” – Hanna Plant, Senior Consultant, Resource Futures
Operating out of both Glasgow and Edinburgh locations now, the Resource Futures Scotland team of Hanna, Kate and Allan, will continue to deliver circular economy support to businesses across Scotland. Resource Futures is the one of the few selected consultancies on the Zero Waste Scotland Circular Economy Business Support Framework and has guided over 30 SME’s thus far through this business support process.
So, if you’re lucky enough to find yourself in Edinburgh, get in touch and join Kate, Hanna or Allan for a Fairtrade coffee in the ECCI café and a chat. As much as we are happy to be hosted by ECCI, we’ll be happy to host you!
