Community Action Groups (CAG) Devon

Helping community groups in Devon reduce waste and achieve sustainable outcomes

Community Action Groups (CAG) Devon was founded to provide support to community groups across the county that are working on achieving sustainable outcomes including waste reduction, sharing and recycling, repair and reuse, biodiversity, energy, composting and greener travel.

As well as arranging training, guidance and grants to cover insurance costs, CAG Devon provides opportunities for networking with like minded groups, as well as knowledge and skills sharing.

Our dedicated CAG Devon team works across all districts within Devon supporting 48 network members, which range from volunteer groups to social enterprises.

Members include:

  • community fridges and larders
  • repair cafes
  • community gardens and orchards
  • beach clean and litter pick organisations
  • swap shops
  • and more…

In 2023-4 this network:

  • gave upwards of 24,500 volunteer hours, valued at over £380,000;
  • diverted almost 70 tonnes of waste from landfill and incineration;
  • saved over 360 tonnes of CO2e.

The CAG Devon programme is funded by Devon County Council and managed by Resource Futures staff.
