Guidance on Household Waste Recycling Centres

The National Assessment of Civic Amenity Sites (NACAS) report was written in 2004 and was the seminal publication on Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) operations for many years.
In 2012 WRAP commissioned Resource Futures to develop HWRC guidance which included many of the principles and findings from the NACAS report but also new and updated content. This WRAP guidance, the Household Waste Recycling Centres Guide, is now the most comprehensive, publicly available resource. The guide, along with supplementary guidance on re-use at HWRCs and bulky waste management, also written by Resource Futures, will provide local authority officers and their contractors with a wide range of information upon which to make HWRC network and site performance improvements.
