Welsh Government Collections Blueprint 2025

Originally launched in 2011, the Welsh Government Collections Blueprint laid out its vision for transforming waste collections across Wales to make them more effective, consistent and sustainable.

Looking to update the Collections Blueprint for 2025 – showing progress in collections processes and technology, changing approaches from local authorities, and the environmental and economic impact that the previous decade and a half has brought, WRAP Cymru commissioned a series of video case studies from Resource Futures.

These in-depth videos capture in detail how local authorities are implementing new ideas and initiatives, and benefiting from better quality recycling, cost efficiencies, and aligned public attitudes around recycling and waste prevention.

The updated Collections Blueprint is intended to offer an ‘evidence-based roadmap’ for those looking to emulate Wales’ world-leading recycling performance and sustainable waste management practices.
